The ancient city of Kano has been thrown into deep mourning following the tragic death of a woman who gave birth to quintuplets at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital.
The woman reportedly passed away late Wednesday night, just a few hours after successfully delivering five babies at the hospital.
According to available reports, she had been admitted earlier that day and underwent delivery under medical supervision. However, her condition suddenly worsened after childbirth, despite efforts by medical personnel to stabilize her.
Sources within the hospital disclosed that the quintuplets are currently under intensive medical care, though their exact health condition has not yet been officially confirmed.
Confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Ministry of Health, Nabulisi Abubakar, acknowledged the mother’s death.
However, hospital authorities are yet to release a comprehensive statement detailing the exact cause of her passing.
The tragic development has drawn an outpouring of grief, as family members and sympathizers gathered at the hospital upon receiving the heartbreaking news.
Authorities have assured the public that further details will be made available as ongoing medical reviews and investigations into the incident are concluded.
