The North-West Presidential Campaign flag-off in Kaduna attracted campaign stakeholders and supporters, with Dr Rahila Aliyu Muktar leading a medical team from Kano State to provide essential health support throughout the event.
Dr Muktar, who serves as Deputy Director I, Health and Safety, of the Kano State Presidential and Governorship Campaign Council and Executive Secretary of the Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA), led the team in providing medical support to participants during the programme.
The medical team’s presence highlighted the importance of integrating health and safety arrangements into major public gatherings. Its deployment ensured that medical personnel were available to attend to participants’ health-related needs, underscoring the value of medical preparedness at large-scale events.
Speaking on the significance of the team’s participation, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of KSCHMA, Aminu Ahmad Turaki, highlighted the importance of prioritising health and safety during major public engagements. He noted that the presence of medical personnel at such gatherings reinforces the need to safeguard participants’ wellbeing while supporting the effective coordination of public events.
Dr Muktar’s leadership reflected the importance of professional healthcare expertise in coordinating health and safety support beyond conventional healthcare settings. The assignment also demonstrated how medical professionals can contribute to public activities by helping ensure that appropriate medical assistance is available when needed.
The Kaduna flag-off formed part of broader campaign mobilisation activities across the North-West geopolitical zone, bringing together stakeholders and supporters for the campaign programme. The medical team’s involvement provided an important health support component alongside the event’s wider political activities.

The exercise further underscored the importance of combining public mobilisation with adequate medical preparedness, ensuring that participants’ wellbeing remains a key consideration during major gatherings.
