Kano Hospital Board Confirms Incident at Abubakar I am Urology Centre, Suspends Three Staff

The Kano State Hospitals Management Board has informed the general public that following a preliminary and transparent investigation ordered by the Executive Secretary,

Dr. Mansur Mudi Nagoda, it has been confirmed that the unfortunate incident involving the late Aishatu Umar occurred at the Abubakar Imam Urology Centre.

In line with its commitment to accountability, professionalism, and patient safety, the Board has suspended three (3) personnel directly involved in the incident from all clinical duties with immediate effect.

Additionally, the case has been formally referred to the Kano State Medical Ethical Committee for further investigation and appropriate disciplinary action in accordance with existing laws, professional guidelines, and ethical standards.

The Kano State Hospitals Management Board extends its deepest condolences to the family of the late Aishatu Umar and expresses sincere sympathy over this tragic loss. The Board reassures the public that it will not tolerate negligence in any form and remains committed to taking decisive actions to protect the lives, dignity, and trust of patients across all state-owned health facilities.

The Board further affirms its determination to strengthen internal monitoring mechanisms, enforce professional standards, and ensure that similar incidents are prevented in the future.
