A young entrepreneur in Kano State, Mustapha Idris Muhammad, is working towards acquiring the technical skills needed to assemble egg incubator machines, with the ambition of establishing a sustainable business and contributing to local technological development.

Mustapha’s interest in incubator production began when he encountered the machine and became curious about how it was assembled and operated. Driven by a desire to understand the technology, he sought guidance from an individual with knowledge of the equipment, who introduced him to its basic components and demonstrated how some of the essential parts are connected.

Inspired by the experience, Mustapha began purchasing the materials required to assemble his own incubator machine. However, he said his progress has been gradual, as he can only acquire components based on the financial resources available to him.

He explained that some individuals have supported his efforts through financial contributions and the provision of materials, helping him move closer to achieving his goal.

“Some individuals have also supported my efforts through financial assistance, including a manager who contributed money towards purchasing materials, while another person helped me obtain a temperature controller,” he said.

High Cost of Components Remains a Major Challenge

Despite his determination, Mustapha identified inadequate funding and the high cost of components as major obstacles to completing the project.

According to him, a turning motor costs approximately ₦17,000, while some smaller components sell for about ₦2,000 and a timer costs around ₦3,000.

He explained that the rising financial demands of the project have slowed his progress, making it difficult to purchase all the necessary materials at once.

Nevertheless, Mustapha remains optimistic about completing the machine and transforming his technical interest into a viable business.

Plans to Build a Sustainable Business

The aspiring entrepreneur said his long-term ambition is to assemble egg incubator machines for commercial purposes and gradually expand production as his financial capacity improves.

He believes that acquiring practical technical skills and developing locally assembled equipment could create opportunities for self-employment, promote innovation and encourage young people to pursue productive ventures.

Mustapha also expressed hope that his initiative would inspire other young people to explore technical skills as a pathway to economic independence rather than relying solely on conventional employment opportunities.

Appeal for Support

The young entrepreneur appealed to well-meaning individuals, business owners and other stakeholders to support young people who are making efforts to acquire technical knowledge and establish small businesses but lack the financial resources to turn their ideas into reality.

He noted that financial assistance, encouragement and access to technical expertise could significantly improve the chances of success for aspiring entrepreneurs.

According to him, targeted support would not only help individuals develop their skills but could also contribute to job creation, innovation and economic growth.

Despite the challenges, Mustapha expressed optimism about the future of his project, praying for God’s guidance, greater knowledge and success in his efforts.

He hopes that, with adequate financial and technical support, he will complete the incubator machine and eventually expand the initiative into a sustainable business, contributing to local technological advancement and inspiring other young people to pursue entrepreneurship.
