Rescue of 176 Abducted Kwara Residents Shows Tinubu’s Security Efforts Are Yielding Results – Musa Kwankwaso

The rescue of 176 residents of Woro and Nuku communities in Kaiama Local Government Area of Kwara State, who were abducted on February 3, has been described as a major milestone in the Federal Government’s fight against insecurity.
The victims regained their freedom after a successful rescue operation carried out by the Nigerian military, bringing to an end nearly six months of uncertainty and anguish for their families and communities.

The Kwara State Government announced the development on Wednesday through its official Facebook page, describing the rescue as a significant breakthrough. The state government commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, security agencies, and all those who played roles in the successful operation.

Reacting to the development, the Director of Finance at the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority, Musa Illiyasu Kwankwaso, said the successful rescue demonstrates that the Tinubu administration is making tangible progress in addressing Nigeria’s security challenges.

In a statement, Kwankwaso urged opposition politicians to acknowledge and appreciate government efforts whenever there are positive developments in the country’s security situation.

He commended President Tinubu, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, the Ministers of Defence, and the Service Chiefs for their roles in securing the release of the abducted residents.

According to him, “The successful rescue of the 176 abducted residents is a clear testament that, sooner rather than later, the challenge of insecurity will become a thing of the past.”

Kwankwaso also expressed confidence that the President’s security initiatives are being recognised, particularly in Northern Nigeria.

“The President’s efforts in securing the country have been acknowledged by many Northerners, and they will reciprocate this by demonstrating their support at the appropriate time,” he said.

He further maintained that President Tinubu’s supporters would make their presence felt during future elections, adding that their support extends beyond social media platforms and radio discussions.
