The Commissioner of Police in Akwa Ibom State, Baba Azare, has charged officers and men of the state command to uphold discipline, professionalism and proactive policing in the discharge of their responsibilities.

Azare gave the directive during the command’s monthly strategic conference held at the Police Headquarters in Uyo, according to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John.

The police commissioner urged officers to strengthen intelligence gathering, deepen collaboration with other security agencies and enhance operational efficiency to improve security across the state.

John said the conference reviewed the prevailing security situation, evaluated ongoing operations and adopted fresh strategies aimed at promoting intelligence-led policing, crime prevention, public safety and improved service delivery.

The event also featured the decoration of officers recently promoted from Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), as well as a hepatitis screening exercise for officers and other personnel of the command.

Congratulating the newly promoted officers, Azare urged them to justify their elevation through integrity, exemplary conduct and unwavering commitment to the core values of the Nigeria Police Force.

He reaffirmed the command’s commitment to proactive policing and assured residents of continued efforts to safeguard lives and property across Akwa Ibom State.
