Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has officially launched the All Progressives Congress (APC) grassroots voters’ mobilisation campaign in the state, declaring that the party has commenced strategic engagement at the polling unit level to secure victories for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, himself, and other APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.
The governor made the declaration during a meeting with the leadership and members of the APC Polling Unit Supporters Association, popularly known as ‘Yan Akwatina, led by Hon. Najib Abdulkadir Salati.
Addressing the grassroots mobilisers, Yusuf said President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 would provide an opportunity to consolidate the Federal Government’s economic reforms and accelerate ongoing infrastructure development across the country.
He stressed that strengthening the APC’s grassroots structure remains critical to expanding the party’s support base and positioning it for victory in all elective offices at both the state and national levels.
As part of efforts to boost the association’s mobilisation activities, the governor announced a donation of ₦100 million and allocated plots of land to the group.
Earlier, the Governor’s Political Adviser, Mustapha Hamza Buhari Bakwana, described the gathering as the official commencement of the APC’s grassroots mobilisation strategy ahead of the 2027 elections.
According to Bakwana, the APC Polling Unit Supporters Association has the capacity to mobilise more than 1.12 million votes for President Tinubu in the next presidential election.
In his remarks, the association’s leader, Hon. Najib Abdulkadir Salati, commended Governor Yusuf for appointing many of its members into positions at both the state and local government levels.
He pledged the association’s unwavering commitment to delivering decisive victories for the APC in the 2027 general elections.
Also speaking, the Kano State APC Chairman, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa, expressed confidence that the party was well-positioned for a landslide victory, attributing the APC’s growing strength in the state to Governor Yusuf’s achievements in office.
He added that the party would continue consolidating its political dominance in Kano as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
The APC Polling Unit Supporters Association maintains structures across Kano State’s 44 local government areas, 484 wards, and all polling units, making it one of the party’s largest grassroots mobilisation platforms in the state.
