Gov Yusuf Endorses Deputy Garo as Running Mate for 2027 Kano Governorship Election
Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has officially announced his deputy, Murtala Sule Garo, as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election.
The announcement was made during a strategic meeting with federal political appointees of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Kano Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Governor Yusuf said the decision was based on Garo’s loyalty, commitment, and dedication to the development of Kano State since assuming office as Deputy Governor.
The governor expressed satisfaction with their working relationship, describing Garo as a competent, dependable, and responsible partner who has contributed significantly to the administration’s achievements.
“I have no regrets for choosing Garo as my Deputy in the last few months, and he has proven to be the right choice so far. I want to confirm to you that I have every confidence in him,” Governor Yusuf said.
He also passed a vote of confidence in the deputy governor, saying Garo’s unwavering support has strengthened the administration’s efforts to deliver meaningful development across Kano State.
Governor Yusuf urged party leaders, political appointees, and supporters to remain united and committed as the administration consolidates on its achievements ahead of the 2027 general elections.
