The Director General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, disclosed this during a press briefing held at the Board’s Conference Hall in Kano.

According to Matawalle, the decision followed extensive consultations and strategic planning aimed at ensuring smooth coordination and early preparations for the 2027 Hajj exercise.

He announced that the sale of Hajj seats and payment process officially began on Sunday, July 12, 2026, and will end on September 26, 2026.

The Director General urged prospective pilgrims to complete their registration and make the required payment within the stipulated period to avoid last-minute challenges and enable the Board to make adequate arrangements for a successful pilgrimage.

Matawalle explained that the Board has put in place a transparent payment system, stressing that all payments must be made through bank drafts and submitted to the Local Government Hajj Centre Officers across Kano State.

He cautioned intending pilgrims against dealing with unauthorized individuals or agents, advising them to strictly follow the official procedures approved by the Kano State Government.

Reaffirming the Board’s commitment to excellence, Matawalle said every effort would be made to provide efficient, transparent and quality services to ensure pilgrims from Kano State perform the sacred pilgrimage in comfort, safety and dignity.

He also appreciated the Governor of Kano State for his continued support and commitment to the welfare of pilgrims, while thanking religious leaders, stakeholders and the people of the state for their cooperation and confidence in the Board.

The Director General concluded by praying that Almighty Allah grants all intending pilgrims the opportunity to perform an accepted Hajj and return safely to their families.
