The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, has congratulated ACP Dahiru Yusuf Alkali (Rtd) on his retirement from the Nigeria Police Force upon attaining the mandatory retirement age of 60, following 34 years of dedicated and exemplary service to the nation.
ACP Alkali was celebrated at a colourful send-off ceremony organised by the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Bichi Area Command Chapter, on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Honourable Abba Kabir Bichi Stadium in Bichi.

The event attracted a large gathering of community leaders, government representatives, security stakeholders, associates, and residents who came together to honour the retired officer’s remarkable contributions to peace, security, and community development. ACP Alkali received cash donations, gifts, and commendations from well-wishers in recognition of his commitment, professionalism, and years of selfless service.
Representatives of political office holders also pledged additional support in appreciation of his outstanding service to the community.
Paying tribute to the retiree, CP Bakori described ACP Alkali as a disciplined, hardworking, and resilient officer whose integrity and professionalism served as an inspiration to younger officers. He recalled relying heavily on the retired officer during his tenure as Area Commander of Bichi Area Command, describing him as dependable, trustworthy, and committed to duty.
The Commissioner prayed for Almighty Allah to grant ACP Alkali good health, wisdom, and fulfillment in retirement.
Also speaking at the ceremony, PCRC Chairman, Alhaji Garba Tukur Bichi, described ACP Alkali as “a man of the people” who earned the respect and confidence of both police officers and members of the public.
He commended the retiree for his exceptional service, noting that his efforts significantly strengthened community policing and enhanced public safety across Bichi Area Command and neighbouring communities.
In his response, ACP Dahiru Alkali expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting him a successful career and the privilege of retiring in good health. He described the people of Bichi Local Government Area as family, saying the relationships he built over the years extended far beyond official responsibilities.
The retired officer also thanked CP Bakori for his leadership, mentorship, and unwavering support throughout his career.
He urged serving officers to remain disciplined, dedicated, and committed to community-oriented policing.
ACP Alkali concluded by praying for sustained peace, security, and prosperity in Bichi Area Command, Kano State, and the country at large.
Among the dignitaries in attendance were representatives of the Deputy President of the Senate and the member representing Bichi Federal Constituency, Hon. Abba Kabir Bichi; representatives of the Chairmen of Bichi, Bagwai, and Shanono Local Government Areas; members of the Kano State Police Command Management Team; retired DCP Ibrahim Sumaila; the Village Head of Bichi; and other distinguished guests.
