Chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Mohammed Sani Musa, CON, on Wednesday presented the report of the Senate Joint Committees on Finance, Customs, Excise and Tariff on the Customs and Excise Tariff Consolidation Act Amendment Bill during plenary at the National Assembly.
The report is part of ongoing legislative efforts aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s fiscal framework and enhancing the efficiency of customs and tariff administration.
During the same plenary session, Senator Musa also contributed to deliberations on the country’s growing security challenges, particularly the recent kidnapping of schoolchildren in Oyo State.
Expressing concern over the incident and the broader security situation across the country, the Niger East senator called for stronger security measures and greater collaboration among relevant stakeholders to protect lives and property.
He emphasized the need for sustained efforts by security agencies and government institutions to address insecurity and ensure the safety of citizens, especially vulnerable groups such as schoolchildren.
Senator Musa is widely regarded as one of the influential voices in the Senate, consistently contributing to legislative debates and national discourse on key issues affecting the country.
