ADC Unveils Idris Adamu Yanoko as Kano Governorship Candidate for 2027

The faction of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by its National Chairman, Nafi’u Bala Gombe, has officially unveiled Hon. Idris Adamu Yanoko as the party’s governorship candidate for Kano State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The announcement was made during a formal presentation ceremony where the Acting Chairman of the party in Kano State, Hon. Musa Nuhu Yankaba, introduced Yanoko to the national leadership.

Speaking at the event, Yankaba said the decision to nominate Yanoko followed extensive consultations among party leaders and stakeholders across the state.

“After wide consultations with our leaders and stakeholders, we unanimously agreed that Hon. Idris Adamu Yanoko possesses the qualities, experience, and vision needed to provide effective leadership for Kano State,” he said.

He noted that the party was working to strengthen its structures across Kano and other parts of the country in preparation for the 2027 elections.

“Our focus is on building a strong and vibrant party that can effectively compete and offer Nigerians a credible alternative in 2027,” Yankaba added.

In his acceptance remarks, Yanoko expressed gratitude to the party leadership for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work tirelessly for the growth of the party and the development of Kano State.

“I am deeply honoured by the trust and confidence the party has placed in me. I will work closely with all stakeholders to strengthen our party and seek the support of the good people of Kano as we prepare for the 2027 elections,” Yanoko said.

Also speaking, ADC National Chairman Nafi’u Bala Gombe reaffirmed the party’s readiness to participate actively in the 2027 general elections.

“The ADC is fully prepared for the 2027 elections. We remain committed to providing credible leadership and presenting candidates who can address the challenges facing our people,” Gombe stated.

The unveiling comes as political parties across the country intensify preparations and strategic positioning ahead of the 2027 general elections.
