The Kwankwasiyya Movement has commended its members who aspired to various elective positions for demonstrating discipline, loyalty, and commitment by accepting the outcome of the movement’s consensus candidate selection process.

In a statement issued by its spokesperson, Hon. Habibu Sale Mohammed, PhD, the movement expressed appreciation to aspirants for the governorship, Senate, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly seats who placed the collective interest of the movement above personal ambitions.

According to the statement, the conduct of the aspirants throughout the process has reinforced the Kwankwasiyya Movement’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s most disciplined and ideologically driven political platforms.

The movement particularly praised Senator Rufa’i Sani Hanga for what it described as exemplary statesmanship after he stepped aside and supported the emergence of former Kano State Deputy Governor, Nasiru Yusuf Gawuna, as the consensus candidate for his senatorial seat.

“His sacrifice and commitment to the collective interest of the movement represent the highest ideals of political maturity and loyalty,” the statement noted.

The movement also acknowledged the former Governor of Kano State and former Senator, Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya, for accepting the decision to field the immediate past President of the Nigerian Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO), Hon. Nasir Batayya, as the senatorial candidate for Kano South.

It described the gesture as a demonstration of discipline, unity, and respect for collective decisions, adding that such sacrifices strengthen the movement’s cohesion and political strength.

The statement further expressed gratitude to several other aspirants across Kano State who either stepped aside for fellow members or accepted alternative responsibilities in the interest of building a stronger political platform.

“These sacrifices will remain a proud chapter in the history of the Kwankwasiyya Movement,” it stated.

The movement also congratulated all candidates who emerged through the consensus process, with special recognition for its governorship candidate, Hon. Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, whose emergence, it said, reflects the confidence reposed in him by the leadership and members of the movement.

It equally congratulated all senatorial, House of Representatives, and State House of Assembly candidates selected to fly the movement’s flag in the forthcoming elections.

The statement reminded the candidates that their emergence comes with significant responsibility, urging them to uphold the ideals of humility, integrity, discipline, accountability, social justice, and people-oriented governance that define the Kwankwasiyya Movement.

It also called on them to focus on issue-based campaigns and demonstrate a commitment to competent and responsible leadership.

As preparations for the elections intensify, the movement appealed to its members and supporters to remain united and focused on achieving victory for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kano State.

“The spirit of sacrifice and discipline demonstrated throughout this process must continue to guide our actions as we work collectively towards securing victory and delivering a better future for the people of Kano State,” the statement concluded.
