Senator Chimaroke Nnamani, former Governor of Enugu State and current member of the National Assembly, has refuted claims that he apologised to Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, over previous political remarks.
In a press release issued by his media office on Wednesday, Nnamani dismissed the reports circulating across traditional and social media as “entirely false, misleading, and a deliberate act of misinformation.” He categorically stated that he never issued any form of apology public or private to Mr. Obi, nor made the comments now being linked to him.
Describing the alleged apology as a complete fabrication, the senator accused unnamed individuals of trying to promote a false political narrative and drag his name into unnecessary controversy.
“I have always spoken clearly and consistently on political issues and I stand by my views,” Nnamani asserted, adding that he does not engage in political revisionism or apologise for exercising his democratic right to free speech.
He urged the public to disregard the report in its entirety and warned those behind the misinformation to stop peddling propaganda and outright falsehoods.
