Kano, The All Progressives Congress (APC) kano State Chapter has issued a formal warning to the Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Yusuf Abdullahi Ata, over what the party described as unguarded public comments on internal party matters.
In a letter signed by APC Kano State Chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas, and made available to the newsmen in Kano on Friday,.
The party expressed concern over recent media statements attributed to the minister regarding party affairs and aspirants.
The letter said such remarks could create misunderstandings and breed disunity among members.
The APC stressed that only designated spokespersons are authorised to speak on internal matters, noting that Ata does not hold a public‑relations role within the party.
While acknowledging his right to support any aspirant of his choice, the party reminded the minister that his position as a member of the Federal Executive Council obliges him to promote unity and cohesion within the APC.
The party further accused Ata of repeatedly making “uncomplimentary and derogatory” public statements, warning that failure to desist from such conduct may attract disciplinary action
