The Jigawa State Government, in partnership with the A360 Initiative, has trained 150 young women in various vocational skills to enhance their livelihoods and promote self-reliance.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony held at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Dutse, Governor Malam Umar A. Namadi reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to empowering women and youths across the state.

Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Malam Bala Ibrahim, the governor commended the collaboration with the A360 Empowerment Initiative, describing it as a model for integrating skills acquisition with health education.

“Today, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of 150 young women who have successfully completed their training under this vital initiative, in partnership with the Ministry of Women Affairs,” Namadi stated.

He noted that the empowerment scheme not only equips beneficiaries with practical skills but also improves health awareness and economic independence among women in Jigawa State.

As part of the programme, the state government distributed 70 empowerment items, including sewing machines and food processing equipment, while the A360 Initiative contributed an additional 80 items — making a total of 150 tools provided to support the new entrepreneurs.

Governor Namadi praised the Ministry of Women Affairs and A360 Initiative for their dedication to creating opportunities and fostering inclusivity for women from diverse backgrounds.

He urged the beneficiaries to make effective use of their new skills and tools to improve their lives and communities, emphasizing that the graduation marks the beginning of a transformative journey towards self-reliance.

Namadi reiterated his administration’s continued support for women’s empowerment through strategic partnerships and sustainable development initiatives.
