Gov Yusuf’s 2027 Campaign Blueprint Committee Begins Work, Targets September Launch of Second-Term Agenda

The committee established to develop the 2027 re-election campaign blueprint for Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has held its inaugural meeting, setting the stage for the preparation of a comprehensive policy document to guide the administration’s proposed second-term agenda.

The maiden meeting, held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, focused on reviewing the implementation of the governor’s 2023 campaign manifesto, “My Commitment for Kano” (Blueprint 1.0), while laying the foundation for Blueprint 2.0, which is expected to define the administration’s policy direction for the 2027–2031 period.

Chaired by Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba, the committee comprises experienced administrators, heads of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), special advisers, academics, former commissioners and managing directors.

During the meeting, members reviewed a draft framework proposing 16 strategic pillars grouped under six thematic areas.

The framework also outlines strategic objectives, key activities and measurable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor implementation.

The committee deliberated on Governor Yusuf’s priorities and long-term vision for a second term, resolving to engage stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to gather innovative ideas and policy recommendations.

Members said the goal is to produce an inclusive, people-centered blueprint that will consolidate the achievements of the current administration while accelerating Kano State’s socio-economic development.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba emphasized the importance of teamwork, professionalism and dedication in delivering the committee’s mandate. He urged members to approach the assignment with patriotism, resilience and a shared commitment to the development of Kano State.

Committee members, in their separate remarks, pledged their full support toward achieving the committee’s objectives. They stressed the need for extensive stakeholder engagement to ensure that citizens’ perspectives are reflected in the development of the blueprint.

Among the resolutions reached was a decision to hold meetings twice weekly—one virtual and one physical—to fast-track the drafting process. The committee aims to present the completed Blueprint 2.0 for launch by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf in September 2026.

The blueprint is also expected to serve as the foundation for a series of town hall meetings with stakeholders across the state, as well as sustained media engagement throughout the 2027 election campaign.

The committee will work under the supervision of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and his deputy, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo. It is also expected to invite memoranda from serving commissioners to enrich the document and promote a broad-based, inclusive policy development process.
