Prime College, a private institution in Kano, has marked its 30th anniversary, celebrating three decades of academic achievement and educational service in the state.
Established in August 1995, the school has grown from a modest beginning to become one of Kano’s leading institutions for primary and secondary education.
Over the years, Prime College has educated both Nigerian and international students, many of whom have gone on to successful careers in fields such as medicine, engineering, technology, and public service.
The school has recorded strong academic results in recent years. According to its management, Prime College has maintained a 100% pass rate in national and international examinations, including the IGCSE, WAEC, NECO, JAMB, and the Canadian OSSD diploma. Over 80% of students reportedly achieve distinctions annually, and in 2023, a Prime College student was recognized as the top-performing candidate nationwide in English Language.
The college credits its success to a commitment to academic excellence, investment in qualified teachers, and a values-based approach to education. The school also promotes inclusivity and operates scholarship programs for disadvantaged study’s.

According to UNICEF, Kano State has nearly one million out-of-school children, with an estimated 240,766 girls not enrolled in primary school.
Prime College says it is committed to playing a role in addressing these challenges by working collaboratively with government and private sector stakeholders to expand access to quality education.
“The challenges are not insurmountable,” said the school’s Public Relations Director, S. Hanga, MA MNIM MNIPR.
“With closer collaboration between government and private institutions, guided by fair and effective policies, we can improve infrastructure and drive positive change in the education sector.”
As it enters its fourth decade, Prime College says it will continue to prioritize academic excellence and contribute to educational and social development in Kano State.
