Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has nominated his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, and Balarabe Sa’idu Gani for appointment as commissioners in the state.
The governor’s nominees were forwarded to the Kano State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
The Speaker of the House, Jibril Isma’il Falgore, announced the nominations during plenary on Monday after reading an official letter from the governor.
Falgore disclosed that the screening exercise would hold on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.
He noted that the confirmation process would be conducted in line with the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa currently serves as the spokesperson to Governor Yusuf.
The latest nominations come barely a week after the Kano State House of Assembly screened and confirmed six commissioner nominees.
Among those confirmed were former commissioner Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa and former Chairman of the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission, Professor Sani Lawan.
The latest exercise is expected to further strengthen the state executive council following the confirmation of the previous nominees.
