The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, has described the massive turnout at the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign rally in Kaduna State as a reflection of the enthusiasm of party supporters and Nigerians ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Barau said thousands of people from Kaduna State’s 23 local government areas, other parts of the North-West, including Kano State, and across the country attended the campaign rally to show their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the APC.
According to him, the turnout at the rally demonstrated widespread support for the ruling party ahead of the presidential and National Assembly elections scheduled for January 16, 2027.
The Deputy President of the Senate recalled that large crowds lined the approximately 30-kilometre route from Hassan Usman Katsina International Airport through Mando Road to the Kaduna Township Stadium, formerly known as Ranchers Bees Stadium, where the rally was held.
He said supporters gathered along the route to welcome President Tinubu and members of his entourage, describing the reception as a demonstration of enthusiasm for the President and the APC.
Barau expressed optimism that the party would secure victory in the forthcoming elections, attributing his confidence to what he described as the APC’s performance in government and the continued support of Nigerians.
“By God’s grace and with the continued support of Nigerians, we will coast to victory in the presidential and National Assembly elections, as well as the governorship and State Assembly elections,” he said.
He also expressed confidence in the party’s prospects in the elections scheduled for January 16 and February 6, 2027.
The senator further stated that the APC’s performance at the rally reinforced his belief that the party enjoys support across different levels of government, from the state to the National Assembly and the presidency.
Barau commended the people of Kaduna State and the wider North-West region for their conduct during the event, expressing appreciation for what he described as their peaceful participation.
He thanked residents and supporters who attended the rally, noting that their participation contributed to the event’s atmosphere.
