The Kano State Police Command has extended warm greetings to workers across the state in celebration of Workers’ Day 2026, commending their resilience, dedication, and vital contributions to socio-economic development.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, praised Nigerian workers for their unwavering efforts in both public and private sectors, describing them as the backbone of progress in Kano State and the nation at large.

“Today, we celebrate the resilience, dedication, and invaluable contributions of Nigerian workers to the socio-economic growth, peace, and development of our dear state and nation. Your tireless efforts remain the backbone of our collective progress,” the Commissioner said.

Bakori paid special tribute to security personnel, health workers, teachers, artisans, traders, farmers, transporters, journalists, civil servants, and labour unions, acknowledging their sacrifices in sustaining the state’s growth despite challenging conditions.

“The Kano State Police Command particularly salutes the courage of our gallant officers and men, alongside other essential workers whose sacrifices have kept Kano moving forward,” he added.

Reaffirming the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, the Police Commissioner noted that efforts are being intensified in line with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu.

“The Command remains committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all workers to thrive through visibility policing, intelligence-led operations, and strong community partnerships,” Bakori stated.

He also urged residents and workers to remain law-abiding and vigilant, warning against violence, thuggery, and other forms of criminality.

“As we mark this day, I appeal to all workers and residents to remain peaceful and support security agencies with timely and credible information. The Command will not relent in its fight against crime,” he said.

The Commissioner called on citizens to use the occasion of Workers’ Day to renew their commitment to unity, patriotism, and hard work for a safer and more prosperous Kano State.

He concluded by wishing all workers a peaceful and memorable celebration.
