Charles Soludo has officially been sworn in for a second term as Governor of Anambra State, following his re-election by voters in November 2025.
The inauguration ceremony took place at exactly 10:55 GMT on Monday at the popular Ekwueme Square in the state capital, Awka, drawing dignitaries, political leaders, and supporters from across the country.
The oath of office was administered by the Chief Judge of Anambra State, Justice Onachie Anyachebulu. Earlier in the ceremony, the Chief Judge also swore in the Deputy Governor, Onyekachukwu Ibezim, marking the formal commencement of the new administration.
Soludo was first inaugurated as governor in March 2022. His re-election for another four-year mandate reflects continued public support for his leadership and policies.
With the new oath of office taken, his second tenure will run until 2030.
The event was attended by several prominent national figures, including former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, alongside other top government officials, traditional rulers, and party stakeholders.
The ceremony combined formal state proceedings with cultural displays, as residents gathered to witness the beginning of a new political chapter in the state.
