Alhaji Rabi’u Bichi has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to prioritise party unity and avoid statements or actions capable of creating tension and division ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Bichi made the appeal while addressing party members following a recent empowerment programme in Bichi, Kano State, where some statements made during the event generated controversy, particularly on social media.
He described the development as unfortunate, warning that such statements could undermine party unity, create unnecessary doubts among members and fuel confusion within the party.
According to him, APC members and stakeholders should maintain a clear focus on the collective interest of the party and work towards securing victory for all APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
Bichi emphasised the need for members to support the party’s candidates at all levels, stressing the importance of achieving an “APC from top to bottom” outcome.
He also urged party stakeholders, supporters and members to exercise restraint in their public statements and conduct, saying personal interests should not be allowed to override the collective interest of the APC.
“Sabotaging Sen. Barau or any other APC member is, in effect, working against the collective interest of our party and the success of all our candidates, including President Tinubu, the Kano State Governor and indeed everyone,” he said.
Bichi reaffirmed that the strength of the APC lies in its unity and urged members to put the party’s interests above personal considerations as they work collectively towards the 2027 elections.
