The Federal High Court of Nigeria has announced the passing of Hon. Justice Mohammed Nasir Yunusa of the Kano Judicial Division, who died on Wednesday, May 21, 2026, after a brief illness.
According to a statement issued by the Director of Information of the Federal High Court, Dr. Catherine Oby Christopher, the late jurist passed away at the State Medical Centre in Kano and was buried in line with Islamic rites.
Justice Yunusa was described as a distinguished and dedicated judicial officer whose career on the Bench was marked by integrity, diligence, and unwavering commitment to the administration of justice.
The statement noted that his invaluable contributions to the judiciary and the legal profession would remain memorable to his colleagues, members of the Bar, court staff, and all who worked closely with him.
“The Chief Judge, Judges, Management, and Staff of the Federal High Court extend their heartfelt condolences to his immediate family and pray that Almighty God grants them the strength and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss,” the statement read.
The court also prayed for Almighty Allah to forgive his shortcomings and grant him Aljannatul Firdaus.
