Kano Govt Donates Three Cows to Custodial Centres for Maulud Celebration

The Kano Statg TVe Government has donated three cows to inmates at three custodial centres across the state as part of activities marking this year’s Maulud celebration.

The donation was made through the Office of the Special Adviser to the Executive Governor on Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Abdulkadir Auwalu Balarabe Alhajiji, and presented to the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Kano State Command, for distribution to inmates at the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kurmawa; Goron Dutse Custodial Centre; and Janguza Custodial Centre.

Speaking during the presentation, Alhajiji said the gesture was made on the directive of Kano State Governor, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, to enable inmates to participate in the Maulud festivities.

He said the donation reflected the state government’s commitment to the welfare and inclusion of people in custodial facilities, as well as other vulnerable groups, during major religious and social celebrations.

The Special Adviser also urged the inmates to continue praying for peace, stability and prosperity in Kano State and Nigeria, as well as the success of the present administration.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Controller of Corrections, Kano State Command, Ahmed Yusuf Lakpene, fsi, the Officer-in-Charge of the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kurmawa, DCC Ibrahim Isah Rambo, expressed appreciation to the state government for the gesture.

Rambo described the donation as a demonstration of compassion and humanity, saying it would contribute to boosting the morale and well-being of the inmates.

Speaking on behalf of the inmates, the Sarkin Gida, the inmates’ leader, expressed appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for remembering them during the Maulud celebration.

He prayed for God’s guidance, protection and blessings upon the governor, the Kano State Government and everyone who contributed to making the donation possible.

In a statement,by the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Correctional Service kano CSC Musbahu Lawan K/Nassarawa said appreciateed the government for its continued support and reaffirmed its commitment to initiatives aimed at promoting the welfare, dignity and rehabilitation of inmates.

The Command also joined the inmates in praying for continued peace, unity and prosperity in Kano State and Nigeria.
