Senator Aminu Iya Abbas, representing Adamawa Central Senatorial District, has officially submitted his nomination form to contest the 2027 governorship election on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging a campaign rooted in fairness, unity, and development.
Speaking shortly after the submission in Abuja, the frontline aspirant called on the leadership of the APC to uphold the principles of internal democracy by ensuring a credible primary election.
“I urge the leadership of our great party to ensure a free, fair, and transparent primary process. Credibility and internal democracy are essential to our success in the forthcoming elections,” Abbas said.
The lawmaker, who currently serves as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Science and Technology, reaffirmed his readiness to provide purposeful leadership focused on continuity, consolidation, and integrated development across Adamawa State.
He noted that his vision is driven by the Adamawa Integrated Agenda (AIA)—a comprehensive development blueprint aimed at transforming key sectors of the state’s economy.
“Our vision is anchored on the Adamawa Integrated Agenda, which is designed to drive holistic development, strengthen institutions, and improve the quality of life for our people,” he stated.
Abbas explained that the agenda would build on existing achievements while introducing innovative policies to accelerate growth and governance efficiency.
“We intend to consolidate on the developmental strides already recorded while deploying fresh ideas that will unlock new opportunities for economic prosperity in Adamawa State,” he added.
He also appealed to party stakeholders and supporters to remain united ahead of the primaries, stressing that cohesion within the APC is critical to securing victory in the general election.
“I call on all stakeholders and supporters of the APC to remain united, focused, and committed. Together, we can achieve victory and deliver good governance to the people,” Abbas said.
The submission of his nomination form signals a major step in Senator Abbas’s bid, as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 governorship race in Adamawa State.
