A political aspirant in Jigawa State, DIG Hussein Gumel (Rtd), has dismissed widespread rumours claiming he has emerged as a consensus candidate, clarifying that no official communication has been made to him regarding such a development.In a message to his supporters, Gumel acknowledged the circulating speculations but cautioned the public against relying on unverified information.

He emphasized the importance of patience and urged his followers to remain calm, united, and respectful as political processes unfold.

The retired Deputy Inspector General of Police stressed that discipline and focus have continued to define his political base, calling on supporters to uphold these values during the period of uncertainty.

Gumel further explained that the responsibility for selecting a consensus candidate lies with the party leadership in collaboration with the state governor.

He advised stakeholders and supporters to wait for an official announcement from the appropriate authorities.

According to him, the eventual consensus candidate would be formally presented with a nomination form in line with established party procedures, ensuring transparency and due process.

He reassured his supporters that he would personally communicate any confirmed development at the appropriate time, urging them not to be distracted by speculation.

Gumel also expressed gratitude for the continued support, loyalty, and prayers from his followers, noting that their encouragement remains a source of strength as the political process continues.
