Kano Emerges Front Runner in Hajj 2026 Payments

The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has once again demonstrated its leadership and commitment to the success of Hajj operations in Nigeria by emerging as the state with the highest number of intending pilgrims whose payments have been successfully remitted to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).

According to the press statement signed by Kano Pilgrims Welfare Board’s Spokesperson, Sulaiman Dederi, the NAHCON figures presented at a meeting held in Abuja by the Commissioner, Policy, Personnel Management, and Finance (PPMF), Prince Aliyu Abdulrazak, said Kano State recorded the largest remittance for the upcoming Hajj exercise.

This achievement reflects the state government’s proactive approach, transparency, and effective coordination in managing Hajj affairs.

Speaking on the development, the Director General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, commended Governor Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusif for his continuous support and for ensuring the timely mobilization of resources for intending pilgrims.

Alhaji Lamin Rabi’u Danbappa, stated that Kano has always treated Hajj matters with utmost seriousness, adding that this milestone underscores the Board’s commitment to ensuring that every intending pilgrim from the state enjoys a smooth and well-coordinated spiritual journey.

He also appreciated the cooperation of the intending pilgrims, local government Hajj Center officers, and the entire staff of the Board for their dedication and efficiency in meeting NAHCON’s requirements ahead of schedule.

In response, the Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, congratulated Kano State for setting the pace and urged other states to emulate its early remittance and well-organized preparation strategy, which ensure seamless planning and logistics for Hajj operations.

Kano State’s consistent leadership in Hajj organization continues to position it as a model of excellence in pilgrims’ management and service delivery in Nigeria.
