Prominent Islamic scholar Malam Lawan Shuaibu Abubakar, known as Malam Triumph, has denied blasphemy allegations brought against him over comments on Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
Appearing before the Kano State Shura Council, Malam Lawan said his remarks were taken out of context and misinterpreted, leading to public misunderstanding.
“I believe in the Prophet and his teachings. Those who misunderstood my message should watch the full clips and forgive me. It was never intentional,” he said.
Chairman of the Council, Malam Sa’ad Shehu Gidado, urged the scholar to promote peace and unity and avoid statements that may divide the Muslim community.
The Shura Council is set to issue recommendations to foster religious harmony in Kano.
