The Kano State Police Command has announced that comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place for the 2025 Maukibi Celebration scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025 (12th Rabi’u Thani 1447 AH).
In a statement issued on Friday, the Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, assured residents and visitors of a peaceful and hitch-free event.
The celebration is expected to attract large crowds from across Nigeria and beyond. The police have urged participants to uphold Kano’s reputation for peace, hospitality, and lawfulness.
The statement also warned against any form of misconduct, including possession of dangerous weapons, use or sale of illicit drugs, and other deviant acts. Offenders, the police warned, will be arrested and prosecuted.
