The State Commandant, Bala Bawa Bodinga, announced the arrests during a media briefing held at the NSCDC headquarters in Kano .
He said the suspects were apprehended in Madobi, Tudunwada, Gwale, Minjibir, and Kumbotso local government areas following intelligence-led patrols and surveillance activities.
According to the command, the suspects were caught engaging in various acts of vandalism, including tampering with electrical installations, communication cables, drainage slabs, and other public infrastructure.
While Some were also found in possession of illegal substances and tools linked to acts of sabotage.
I He said items recovered from the suspects include,1kg of armoured transformer cables
Two rolls of “sukudai” (suck and die)
A short spear (locally known as Dan bida)
Rubber solution (sholusho)
A motorcycle
A broken soldering iron
Five shovels and five diggers
Bodinga said the NSCDC remains committed to protecting critical national assets and infrastructure.
He warned that vandalism poses serious threats to public safety and economic development and assured that the suspects would be prosecuted.

The NSCDC urged members of the public to report suspicious activities and assist security agencies in protecting public infrastructure.
