TMS Petitions Kano APC Over Alleged Victimisation of Members in Kabo

The Tinubu Maliya Shonikan Organisation (TMS) has petitioned the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano State over alleged victimisation and intimidation of some of its members and political appointees in Kabo Local Government Area.

The petition, signed by the TMS Coordinator, Nura Abdullahi Bagwai, Esq., alleged that the Chairman of Kabo Local Government, Hon. Lawan Najume Kabo, removed the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Abba Salisu Mewake Garo, and other political appointees over their participation in the recent TMS launching and inauguration.

According to the organisation, the event, which was held on August 9, 2026, at the Amani Event Centre in Kano, was a peaceful political mobilisation aimed at rallying support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC and the Renewed Hope Agenda.

TMS also alleged that some other participants faced intimidation following the event. It specifically mentioned the Vice Chairman of Kabo Local Government, Hon. Kabiru Durun, and the APC Chairman in the local government, Hon. Hashimu Sarki.

The organisation claimed that the two officials attended the event but later issued media statements distancing themselves from TMS.

In the petition, TMS urged the Kano State APC leadership to investigate the allegations and determine whether the reported actions were consistent with the APC Constitution and the party’s principles of internal democracy.

The organisation also appealed to the party leadership to protect its members from what it described as victimisation for participating in lawful political mobilisation in support of the APC and President Tinubu.

The petition was copied to the APC National Chairman and the party’s National Vice Chairman, North-West.

TMS called for urgent intervention to prevent further disagreements among party members and promote unity within the APC ahead of future elections.
