The Managing Director of the Hadejia Jama’are River Basin Development Authority (HJRBDA), Rabiu Suleiman Bichi, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the successful rescue of abducted students and teachers in Oyo State, describing the operation as a significant breakthrough in Nigeria’s fight against insecurity.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Bichi said the successful operation, which saw the victims reunited with their families, underscored the Federal Government’s commitment to protecting the lives of citizens and confronting insurgency, banditry and other security threats across the country.

He attributed the achievement to the Tinubu administration’s intelligence-driven security strategy and improved coordination among the nation’s security agencies.

According to him, the rescue demonstrated the effectiveness of the government’s approach, particularly as it was carried out without yielding to the demands of the kidnappers.

Bichi also applauded the Armed Forces and other security agencies for their professionalism, bravery and unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives, saying their sacrifices deserve national recognition and sustained public support.

He called on political leaders across party lines, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, to put aside political differences and support the Federal Government’s efforts to tackle the country’s security challenges.

According to Bichi, national security should remain a shared responsibility rather than a subject of partisan politics, stressing that all stakeholders must work together in support of the President and security agencies to ensure lasting peace and protect the lives of Nigerians.
