Gov. Yusuf Appoints Aminu Magashi to Head 17-Member Committee for 2027 Re-election Blueprint

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has inaugurated a 17-member committee to review the implementation of his administration’s 2023 policy document, My Commitment for Kano, and develop a new blueprint to guide his proposed second-term agenda.

The committee, chaired by Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba, is also tasked with preparing the policy framework for Governor Yusuf’s 2027 re-election campaign and the administration’s development agenda for the 2027–2031 period.

The inauguration was announced in a statement issued on Friday by the Director-General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Kano, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

According to the statement, the committee will operate under the direct supervision of Governor Yusuf and his deputy, Alhaji Murtala Sule Garo, while the Executive Chairman of the Strategic Governance and Policy Coordination Office, Dr. Yusuf Ya’u Gambo, will serve as secretary.

The committee has been mandated to evaluate the implementation of the 2023 policy blueprint, identify projects and programmes yet to be fully executed, and integrate them into a new document titled Blueprint 2.0.

The new blueprint is expected to serve as the administration’s policy framework for a proposed second term from 2027 to 2031, with a focus on consolidating achievements, addressing implementation gaps, and advancing socio-economic development across Kano State.

Other members of the committee are Dr. Ibrahim Musa, Mallam Haladu Muhammad, Hon. Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Muhammad Nazir Halliru, Nana Asma’u Jibrin, Dr. Bashir Abdu Muzakkar, Dr. Farouk Kurawa, Kabiru Sani Yakubu, Dr. Abdulhadi Zubairu Chula, Engr. Yesmin Mukhtar, Dr. Halima Umar Sani, Dr. Kabiru Shehu, Barr. Musa Lawan Abdullahi, Dr. Nasiru Alasan Kabo and Dr. Kabiru Ibrahim Getso.

The statement noted that the committee will consult widely with stakeholders from government, the private sector, civil society organisations and other relevant groups to generate innovative ideas and policy recommendations for a comprehensive, inclusive and people-centred development agenda.

It added that the assignment is expected to produce a forward-looking policy document that will strengthen governance, accelerate development and respond to the aspirations of the people of Kano State.
