Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has officially sworn in Hon Ali Musa Hardworker as the duly elected Chairman of Kumbotso Local Government Area, following a court ruling that reshaped the council’s leadership.

The swearing-in ceremony, held on Tuesday evening at the Government House in Kano, came shortly after the Kano State Independent Electoral Commission issued the Certificate of Return to the new chairman.

According to a statement released by the Governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the development was in compliance with a judgment delivered by the Kano State High Court, which nullified the election of the immediate past chairman of the local government.

Speaking at the event, Governor Yusuf charged Hon. Hardworker to lead with integrity, dedication, and a strong sense of responsibility to the people. He stressed that effective governance at the grassroots remains critical to the overall success of government policies and programmes.

“The performance of local government leaders is central to delivering meaningful development to our communities,” the governor said, urging the new chairman to prioritize the needs of residents and promote inclusive growth across all wards in Kumbotso.

He further assured that his administration would continue to support local government councils in ensuring the delivery of democratic dividends to the people.

In his acceptance remarks, Hon. Ali Musa Hardworker expressed appreciation to the governor and the people of Kumbotso for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to justify the mandate by working diligently to improve the welfare and living conditions of residents across the local government area.

The inauguration marks a new chapter in Kumbotso’s leadership, following the legal resolution of the earlier electoral dispute.
