The Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has congratulated the winners of the recent by-elections in the Kano Municipal and Ungogo constituencies, urging them to justify the trust placed in them by their constituents.
Yusuf gave the charge during the 38th Executive Council Meeting held in Kano, where he commended the lawmakers-elect for their victory at the polls.
The governor specifically congratulated Nabil Sarki Aliyu Daneji and Sa’ad Aminu Sa’ad of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for emerging victorious in the by-elections.
“I congratulate the winners of the Kano Municipal and Ungogo by-elections and urge them to justify the confidence reposed in them by the electorate through quality representation and commitment to the welfare of the people,” the governor said.
Yusuf also extended his congratulations to Umar Haruna Doguwa on his emergence as chairman of the APC in Kano State following the party’s recent congress.
“I hope the new leadership of the party will continue to contribute positively to the development of democratic processes in the state,” he added.
The governor noted that his administration remains committed to programmes that improve the welfare of residents across the state.
According to him, the initiatives include the distribution of motorcycles to social media influencers to enhance communication and public engagement, as well as the establishment of 150 Ramadan feeding centres to support vulnerable residents during the fasting period.
Yusuf also announced the appointment of Bilkisu Shehu Maimota as the Acting Head of Service.
“She is expected to strengthen discipline, unity and professionalism within the civil service to ensure efficient service delivery,” the governor stated.
