The Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has declared that political stakeholders in the state are experiencing an unprecedented level of unity, describing the current atmosphere as the most cohesive in Kano’s political history.

The Governor made the statement on Monday while receiving members of the Ward and Local Government Congress Committee during a courtesy visit at the Government House. The development was disclosed in a statement signed by Mustapha Muhammad, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.

Speaking during the visit, Governor Yusuf attributed the growing unity to his defection, alongside other political figures, to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Since we decamped to the APC, the largest political party in Africa, we have continued to witness increasing unity across Kano State.

People who were previously divided are now coming together. Even families that were politically separated are reuniting,” the Governor said.

Reiterating his rationale for joining the ruling party, Yusuf stressed the importance of aligning with the Federal Government for the overall development of the state.

“Anyone who truly means well for the people of Kano should align with the Federal Government, because we have missed a lot in the past,” he added.

The Governor also commended members of the Ward and Local Government Congress Committees for what he described as the peaceful and successful conduct of congresses across the state.

“I must commend you for the excellent work done during the Ward and Local Government Congresses. Your dedication has strengthened our democratic process,” he stated.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Ward/LGA Congress Committee, Mr. Lantep Dabang, praised Governor Yusuf for his leadership style and fairness, particularly during the sharing of party positions.

“We thank His Excellency for the maturity, compassion, and exemplary leadership he demonstrated, especially during the sharing formula of positions,” Dabang said.

He further described the Governor as:
“A man of integrity and justice, whose leadership continues to inspire confidence among party members.”

The meeting underscored what party leaders described as a renewed commitment to unity and cooperation among political actors in Kano State.
