Members of the Kano State Special Advisers Forum have endorsed Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for a second term in office, commending his administration’s far-reaching reforms and development strides across key sectors of the state’s economy.

In a communiqué signed by the Forum’s Chairman, Comrade Hafiz Sani Gaya, and Secretary, Dr. Idris Salisu Rogo, the advisers unanimously passed a vote of confidence in the governor, describing his leadership as visionary, transparent, and people-centered.

According to the statement, Governor Yusuf’s first term has repositioned Kano as a model for good governance and inclusive development in Northern Nigeria.

The forum lauded the Yusuf administration’s massive investment in education, citing the provision of free school uniforms and learning materials, renovation of classrooms, and prompt payment of teachers’ salaries.
It also noted the settlement of outstanding examination fees owed to NECO, WAEC, and NBAIS, and the release of ₦4.2 billion to cover registration fees for indigent students.
In addition, the government reintroduced scholarship programs, granted 50% tuition waivers for Kano students in foreign universities, and reopened tertiary institutions such as Kano State Polytechnic and the College of Education.

Highlighting key reforms in healthcare, the advisers commended the recruitment of 210 medical officers, 36 house officers, and 3 consultants, alongside the establishment of new treatment centers and solar-powered hospitals.
Ambulances were deployed across the 14 health zones to improve emergency response, while insurance coverage was expanded to include people with special needs.
“These interventions have enhanced access to quality healthcare and reaffirmed Kano’s leadership in public health innovation,” the statement read.

On agriculture, the forum praised the recruitment of 1,000 extension workers and the distribution of fertilizer and farm inputs to over 100,000 farmers.
More than 500,000 households benefited from food relief packages, while livestock breeding programs and climate-smart agricultural projects are ongoing to strengthen rural livelihoods and food security.

The advisers described the state’s infrastructure development as “unprecedented,” citing the construction of over 20 new road networks, extensive rehabilitation of existing roads, and installation of solar streetlights across urban and rural areas.
“These projects have boosted mobility, safety, and economic activity in all 44 local government areas,” the statement added.

The Yusuf administration was also commended for promoting entrepreneurship and social inclusion through a ₦5 billion SME loan scheme in partnership with the Bank of Industry.
It further revived dormant textile and garment factories and empowered thousands of youths and women traders.
The forum also noted the success of the mass wedding program, which benefited 1,800 couples, and stipends given to over 2,000 women entrepreneurs across Kano.

To strengthen security, the administration reactivated the Kano State Security Trust Fund, created special anti-phone-snatching squads, and established neighborhood watch teams to curb street crimes and enhance community policing.

“Given these verifiable achievements across all sectors, we proudly and unequivocally endorse His Excellency, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, for a second term as Governor of Kano State.”

They reaffirmed loyalty to the Kwankwasiyya movement, describing it as a symbol of progressive governance and social justice.
