Jigawa state government in collaboration with TESNI Energy Limited organized a stakeholder Engagement workshop on the environmental and social impact Assessment for proposed solar mini grids project in the state.
The project will be executed in Dutse, Hadejia, Maigatari and Gagarawa local government Areas.
In his remarks, the commissioner of power Engr. Sirajo Miss represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry Alhaji Nasiru Haruna says Jigawa state government under the leadership of Malam Umar Namadi Danmodi provide the project for the development of the state, job creation among the youth and invite investors to the state.
He said the project will provide 100Mw of electricity with 25MW in each local government.
Speaking earlier, the director general Due Process office, Professor Engr. Kasimu Muhammad said the project when completed will provide job opportunities in the state.
He called the people of the areas to give their support during the project execution.
On his part, the coordinator of the Tesni Energy Limited Dr. Nuraddeen Danjuma said the purpose of the project is to provide clean and affordable energy while reducing environment and social impact.
GLOBAL TRACKER had earlier learned that recently the National Rural Electrification Agency (REA) has been working with developers to implement mini-grid projects in various states, including Jigawa.
