“Unity or Instability: Abdulsalami’s Message to Nigerians at 65”

Former Military Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar, has urged Nigerians to build a united and prosperous nation where all citizens can live in peace.

Abubakar made the call as the country marks its 65th independence anniversary.He urged Nigerians to uphold sincerity, justice, and fairness while rejecting impunity, describing them as essential for peace, progress, and political stability.

The former leader stressed that Nigerians must not lose faith in their ability to rebuild and reposition the country for greatness.He called on citizens to draw strength from history and face present challenges with courage and unity.

According to him, this is crucial for realising Nigeria’s full potential and achieving sustainable prosperity.

Abubakar also emphasised the need for politicians to critically address underlying issues fuelling agitations, ethno-religious conflicts, and insecurity across the country.

He expressed optimism that with commitment, prayers, and God’s guidance, Nigeria would overcome its current security and economic challenges.

Abubakar urged citizens to sustain faith in national unity, stressing that men and women of integrity are needed to defend the rule of law and drive progress.
