Gov Yusuf Disburses N55.8m Grants to 1,116 Young Entrepreneurs in Kano

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has distributed business grants worth N55.8 million to 1,116 young entrepreneurs operating across Kano metropolis as part of his administration’s efforts to promote youth entrepreneurship and improve livelihoods.

The beneficiaries, who include petty traders, shoe repairers, and other small-scale business owners, each received N50,000 under the state government’s youth empowerment programme to help expand their businesses.

Speaking during the distribution ceremony at the Government House in Kano, Governor Yusuf said the initiative fulfills one of the key promises he made to young people during his election campaign, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to delivering on its pledges.

The governor expressed appreciation for the overwhelming support and loyalty shown to him by the youths of Kano State, describing it as a responsibility that compels his government to implement programmes that improve their welfare and economic prospects.

He reiterated that his administration would continue to prioritize youth empowerment through initiatives designed to promote self-reliance, reduce unemployment and idleness, and stimulate economic growth across the state.

Governor Yusuf explained that the beneficiaries were selected from different parts of Kano metropolis, where they engage in various small-scale businesses, noting that he was familiar with many of the communities and business locations where they earn their daily income.

He commended the beneficiaries for choosing legitimate means of livelihood despite prevailing economic challenges, describing them as hardworking, resilient, and worthy of government support.

The governor assured the young entrepreneurs that his administration would sustain programmes aimed at supporting small businesses while creating more economic opportunities for youths across Kano State.
