Oluremi Tinubu Unveils ₦100m Grant for 2,000 Women Traders, Reaffirms Support for Small Businesses in Jigawa

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has reaffirmed her commitment to promoting small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs), describing the sector as a critical driver of sustainable economic development in the country.

Speaking during the commencement of her one-day official visit to Jigawa State, the First Lady announced a ₦100 million business recapitalisation grant for 2,000 women petty traders. Under the initiative, each beneficiary will receive ₦50,000 to support and expand their businesses.

The announcement was made at the palace of the Emir of Hadejia, His Royal Highness Alhaji Adamu Abubakar Maje, where she was formally received at the start of her visit.

The intervention is part of the First Lady’s continued efforts to empower women economically and strengthen grassroots entrepreneurship across the country.

During her visit, Senator Tinubu is also expected to flag off the National Community Food Bank Programme for the North-West geopolitical zone. In addition, she will inaugurate key projects executed by the Jigawa State Government, including the Bola Ahmed Tinubu Academy and the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Clinic.
