The leadership of Voice of Kano North has reaffirmed its unwavering support for Senator Barau I. Jibrin, endorsing the continuation of what it describes as his impactful representation and commitment to development across the senatorial district.

In a statement, the group emphasized that every society aspires to have leaders who prioritize collective progress over personal interests, noting that Kano North is fortunate to have such leadership.

It congratulated the people of the district for what it called “visionary and legacy-driven representation.”

According to the group, since Nigeria’s return to democratic governance in 1999, no political figure has matched Senator Barau’s level of development in Kano North. It highlighted his contributions to human capital development, particularly in the education sector, where he has facilitated the expansion of schools, colleges, and higher institutions.

The statement further credited the senator with establishing Open University centres and Federal University Dutse outreach centres across all 13 local government areas in the district. It also noted his role in attracting key federal institutions, including the Federal University of Science and Technology, Kabo, a Police College, an Immigration Institute in Bichi, and a Civil Defence Institute in Gwarzo.

On infrastructure, the group pointed to the ongoing Kano–Gwarzo–Dayi road project, with over ₦30 billion reportedly committed to its development, describing it as a major boost to connectivity and economic growth in the region.

The group particularly praised the scale of projects executed in Gwarzo Local Government Area, arguing that Senator Barau’s performance sets a high standard that rivals would struggle to meet. It contrasted his achievements with those of political opponents, claiming that despite holding several high-profile positions, they failed to deliver comparable development.

It added that the senator’s interventions span multiple sectors, including healthcare through hospital construction and upgrades; agriculture through the distribution of fertilizers and livestock; and social welfare through food and cash assistance.

Other initiatives cited include road construction, water supply projects, solar street lighting, and community-based developments such as mosques, palaces, and vocational training centres.

Voice of Kano North concluded by reiterating its loyalty and support, stating that the district cannot afford to lose what it described as “effective and people-oriented leadership” under Senator Barau I. Jibrin.
