He highlighted recent successes in intelligence-led operations, arms recovery, and rapid response as evidence of improved coordination and professionalism at the supervisory level.
CP Bakori issued specific directives to officers to:
Uphold accountability and integrity in all operations, aligning with the IGP’s vision.
Strengthen community policing through regular engagement with traditional rulers, religious leaders, youth groups, and civil society organizations.
Make decisive, professional decisions while resisting external influences and respecting human rights.
Maintain discipline and exemplary conduct as custodians of public trust.
Mentor junior officers to eliminate unprofessional conduct and ensure quality service delivery.
He emphasized that community policing is central to modern law enforcement and encouraged officers to be accessible, courteous, and respectful in all public interactions.
CP Bakori warned that any officer found guilty of unprofessional conduct, extortion, or abuse of power would face strict disciplinary measures. He reaffirmed that diligence would be rewarded, and misconduct sanctioned.
The Commissioner concluded by urging Kano residents to continue cooperating with the Police by providing timely and credible information to support proactive policing.
