Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has charged the newly sworn-in Deputy Governor of Kano State, Murtala Sule Garo, to work diligently towards advancing the development of the state and improving the welfare of its citizens.
The governor gave the charge shortly after administering the oath of office to Garo at the Government House in Kano, emphasizing his administration’s commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy through people-oriented policies and programmes.
“Our administration remains resolute in ensuring that the people of Kano State benefit from meaningful and impactful governance,” Yusuf said. “I urge you to bring your wealth of experience to bear in supporting our collective efforts to move the state forward.”
He stressed the importance of teamwork and dedication in achieving the administration’s development goals, noting that the new deputy governor has a critical role to play in strengthening governance and service delivery.
In his acceptance remarks, Garo pledged his full commitment to the growth and development of the state, assuring the governor and the people of Kano of his readiness to serve with diligence and loyalty.
“I am deeply honoured by the confidence reposed in me by His Excellency and the opportunity to serve our dear state,” Garo said. “I will contribute my quota to ensure that our administration succeeds in delivering on its promises to the people.”
The swearing-in ceremony attracted prominent political figures and stakeholders, including the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin, as well as former Kano State governors Ibrahim Shekarau and Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
Also in attendance was the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Jibril Ismail Falgore, alongside other dignitaries, party leaders, and government officials, reflecting the political significance of the occasion.
