As Christians across Nigeria celebrate Easter, the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has called on citizens to embrace religious harmony, peace, and national unity.
In a goodwill message issued on Sunday by his spokesperson, Paul Mumed, Mark described Easter as a significant season symbolizing sacrifice, hope, renewal, and the triumph of light over darkness. He urged Nigerians to reflect on the virtues of love, selflessness, and forgiveness, as demonstrated by Jesus Christ.
The former Senate President emphasized the importance of peaceful coexistence, calling on Nigerians irrespective of religious, ethnic, or political differences—to foster mutual respect and understanding. He noted that the country’s diversity should be seen as a strength that unites rather than divides.
Mark also appealed to citizens to remain calm and law-abiding during the festive period, stressing the need to sustain peace and stability nationwide.
Reassuring party members and supporters, the ADC chairman stated that the African Democratic Congress remains strong, united, and undeterred despite recent challenges.
According to him, the party’s temporary setbacks have only reinforced its determination to uphold democratic values and deliver good governance.
“ADC remains focused and unwavering in its mission to enthrone democratic ideals, uphold the rule of law, and provide purposeful leadership that meets the needs and aspirations of Nigerians,” he said.
Mark expressed confidence in the party’s future, reaffirming his commitment to leading the ADC to victory in the 2027 general elections. He added that the Easter celebration should inspire renewed faith and hope for a better Nigeria.
He also extended warm wishes to Christians nationwide, praying for a peaceful and joyful Easter celebration.
