Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has felicitated with Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, Founder of Maryam Abacha American University (MAAUN), on the occasion of his birthday.
The governor described him as a distinguished Eduprenuer, an erudite scholar and a pillar of private higher education in Nigeria and West Africa.
This was contained in a statement signed by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa on Thursday.
Governor Yusuf praised Professor Gwarzo’s visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to educational excellence, noting that his investments in education have provided quality learning opportunities for thousands of young people within and outside the country.
He said the establishment of Maryam Abacha American University reflects Professor Gwarzo’s belief in knowledge as a tool for societal transformation, innovation, and sustainable development, adding that the institution has continued to uphold global standards in teaching, research, and character development.
The governor further commended the celebrant for his contributions to human capital development, peace-building, and youth empowerment, stressing that his achievements have earned him respect both nationally and internationally.
Governor Yusuf prayed for Almighty Allah to grant Professor Gwarzo good health, long life, and renewed strength to continue serving humanity and contributing meaningfully to the advancement of education.
