Construction work on the new Neighborhood Security Watch facilities in Kabo, Rimin Gado, Tofa and Dawakin Tofa Local Government Areas of Kano State is progressing steadily.
The Commissioner for the Ministry of Public Procurement, Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Comrade Nura Ma’aji Sumaila, led a team of engineers on an inspection visit to the project sites where they confirmed that major structural milestones and extensive site preparations had been completed.
Ma’aji Sumaila said the initiative aligns with the state government’s commitment to strengthening community-based security, improving surveillance and ensuring swift responses to emerging threats.
He noted that locating security structures closer to communities would enhance early detection of crimes and improve coordination with residents.
Beneficiary communities expressed optimism that the facilities would help reduce theft, vandalism and other criminal activities, while commending Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for prioritising safety.
The commissioner also inspected the second phase of the Kwankwasiyya Gida-Gida Block of Classrooms in Dawakin Tofa, Makoda, Kabo and Rimin Gado LGAs.
