The Kano State Government has reactivated the Kano State Traditional Council and appointed the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, as chairman of the council.
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf announced this while inaugurating the council at the Government House, Kano.
Yusuf said the reactivation of the council was aimed at enhancing harmonious working relationships among the emirates and strengthening governance at the grassroots.
He urged the emirs to work together to advance the development objectives of the state.
In his remarks, the chairman of the council and Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, Commended Governor Yusuf for restoring the traditional council system.
Sanusi assured that under his leadership, the council would work collectively and offer credible advice to improve the welfare of the people.
He also praised the state government for its swift response to security challenges in the state.
