The Kano State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Alhaji Adamu Kibiya, has welcomed over 50 members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from Kibiya ward in Kibiya Local Government Area to the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in the area.
This is contained in a statement issued by Director of Public Enlightenment, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Balarabe Kiru on Wednesday in Kano.
Kibiya, welcomed APC supporters to the NNPP, citing Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s commitment to good governance and development projects.
Kibiya noted that the governor has implemented projects in health, education, infrastructure, empowerment, and agriculture, benefiting Kano residents.
He assured the new NNPP members of the party’s support and urged them to remain steadfast in ensuring the administration’s success.
Yakubu Alhaji, leader of the decamped APC supporters, said they joined NNPP in recognition of the party’s commitment to development and good governance under Governor Abba Yusuf administration.
He lamented that the APC administration had no development projects in the area in the past 8 years, alleging that its policies were self-serving rather than people-oriented.
Councilor Kibiya ward,Auwalu Sarki disclosed that more groups are set to join the NNPP, praising Commissioner Adamu Aliyu Kibiya’s efforts in promoting the party and Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s policies in Kibiya Local Government Area.
Sarki noted that the commissioner’s work has been instrumental in attracting supporters to the party.( NAN) ( www.nannews.ng)
